We are a friendly group of people from a wide range of backgrounds and ages. We have one thing in common: we love Jesus and want to serve him.
Brendan trained at Moorlands College and the University of Manchester. Ordained in 1994 in Bournemouth he spent 6 years as pastor in at Cabin Lane Church in Oswestry, Shropshire before moving to Bristol in 2001 to join VPBC. He is married to Lisa since 1990 and have two sons George 22 and Max 17. Brendan is also involved in local league football, served as a school governor and a member of the Independent Monitoring Board at HMP Bristol.
Helen became our part-time Associate Minister in June 2012. She has one husband and three daughters, and divides her time between church responsibilities and teaching theology at the Bristol Baptist College , while trying to keep track of which family members are where, and when they need picking up!
Jane is a mother of 4 and grandmother of 13 and is recently retired. The church has been large part of mine and my familiy’s life for many years. I love my Ministry with Toddlers and Youth within the community.
“Hello everyone I’m Rita and I look forward to meeting you. I am a Star Trek fan! I also love music from the sixties, keeping fit and dancing.” I am a foster carer and so children are a big part of my life.
Jackie is a Grandma and actively involved with her two grandchildren, she also tries to write children books. “I volunteer for the South Bristol Child Contact Centre . I also love 60s music and am an avid Formula One racing fan.”
Hilary loves cooking and every month provides a hearty meal at the church lunch club, her favourite phrase is “Let’s have a cup of tea”. She has two grown up children and her hobby is singing with the Penny Brohn Choir.
Bev works as a teaching assistant in a Primary school, she has three grandchildren and a dog named “Socks” who she adores! Bev enjoys agility training with Socks in her spare time.
Roger works full time at Bristol Aerospace and juggles a busy family life with his wife Lisa and their two children. He also runs a cub group locally.
